Intensive Outpatient Treatment

At Anderson Treatment, we understand that overcoming addiction is a journey, often fraught with challenges and emotional turmoil. Our Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) program is designed to provide individuals with the tools, support, and understanding needed to navigate this difficult path. By fostering self-awareness and insight into addiction patterns, we empower our patients to recognize the negative consequences of substance abuse, whether related to alcohol, drugs, or both. Our approach is holistic, compassionate, and dedicated to fostering lasting recovery.

Our program is structured to meet the unique needs of each individual, combining therapy, education, and community support. Patients participate in a variety of therapeutic sessions that foster growth, healing, and accountability.

Therapeutic Approaches in Our IOP

At Anderson Treatment, we employ a variety of therapies to resolve the diverse issues of our patient

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT teaches patients that our thoughts influence our feelings and behaviors. This understanding empowers individuals to change their thought patterns, leading to healthier emotional and behavioral responses.

Relationship Group

This psychoeducational group helps patients examine the impact of addiction on their relationships, identifying and addressing dysfunctional patterns within the family system.

12-Step Group

This weekly group complements regular attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings, helping patients apply the principles of the 12 steps in their daily lives.

Process Group

This less structured environment allows patients to explore interpersonal dynamics and become aware of their own feelings and interactions within the group.

Music Therapy

Our experiential music therapy group unlocks the healing potential within each individual. Through music and spontaneous imagery, we address the emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of recovery.

Auricular Acupuncture

This complementary therapy targets specific points on the ear to alleviate cravings and ease detoxification symptoms, providing additional support during recovery.

Yoga

Our yoga sessions integrate breathing exercises, postures, and meditation, promoting balance among mind, body, and spirit. Yoga is a powerful tool in alleviating symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress.

Psychodrama

This experiential therapy allows patients to explore personal issues through dramatic action, facilitating insight, personal growth, and integration across cognitive, emotional, and behavioral levels.

How Our IOP Treatment Works?

Our highly trained staff uses a robust assessment process to determine the appropriate level of care for each patient. This begins with a comprehensive evaluation that includes:

  • Bio-Psychosocial History: Understanding an individual’s psychological, social, and biological history.
  • Substance Use History: An extensive review of past and current substance use.
  • Urine Drug Screening: To monitor substance use throughout treatment.
  • Patient and Family Interviews: Involving family members helps build a support system and provides context for treatment.
  • Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI-3): This assessment helps identify substance abuse issues and tailor treatment accordingly.

A formal written assessment report will be generated as needed for utmost transparency and clarity in the treatment process. We also determine if outpatient medication detoxification or psychiatric services are required during this initial phase.
