Our Leadership in Psychodrama
Led by Jody Anderson, LCSW, a trained psychodramatist and clinical director, our team integrates psychodrama into both group and individual therapy sessions. Jody also provides training and mentorship to staff and graduate students in this specialized therapy.
Psychodrama Therapy
Anderson Treatment is proud to offer Psychodrama, an experiential therapy that uses role play, creativity, and guided group processes to help individuals explore emotions, experiences, and relationships in a safe and supportive way.
What Is Psychodrama?
Psychodrama is a powerful therapeutic approach that allows participants to “act out” situations rather than only talk about them. By using movement, role reversal, and guided dramatization, clients gain new perspectives, release trauma, and strengthen emotional resilience.
Benefits of Psychodrama
Process and heal unresolved trauma
Improve self-awareness and emotional expression
Build empathy and stronger interpersonal connections
Practice new skills and coping strategies in a safe space
Strengthen group cohesion and peer support in recovery
Therapeutic Approaches in Our IOP
At Anderson Treatment, we employ a variety of therapies to resolve the diverse issues of our patient
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT teaches patients that our thoughts influence our feelings and behaviors. This understanding empowers individuals to change their thought patterns, leading to healthier emotional and behavioral responses.
Relationship Group
This psychoeducational group helps patients examine the impact of addiction on their relationships, identifying and addressing dysfunctional patterns within the family system.
12-Step Group
This weekly group complements regular attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings, helping patients apply the principles of the 12 steps in their daily lives.
Process Group
This less structured environment allows patients to explore interpersonal dynamics and become aware of their own feelings and interactions within the group.
Music Therapy
Our experiential music therapy group unlocks the healing potential within each individual. Through music and spontaneous imagery, we address the emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of recovery.
Auricular Acupuncture
This complementary therapy targets specific points on the ear to alleviate cravings and ease detoxification symptoms, providing additional support during recovery.
Yoga
Our yoga sessions integrate breathing exercises, postures, and meditation, promoting balance among mind, body, and spirit. Yoga is a powerful tool in alleviating symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress.
Psychodrama
This experiential therapy allows patients to explore personal issues through dramatic action, facilitating insight, personal growth, and integration across cognitive, emotional, and behavioral levels.
